I'm still waiting on non-google notifications. Either their own, like Signal, or UnifiesPush. For a privacy company it feels like a glaring omission.

Honestly shocking this still hasn't been done yet...

Not really, if they're encrypted.
Which they are

You don't encrypt the notifications. That isn't how it works, but that's besides the point. Even if they were encrypted, that doesn't do any good for the people that don't have Google services on their devices. That's the reason people are asking for this.

Didn't Apple just have a whole thing about police being able to pull notifications because they weren't encrypted?

[–] Steve@communick.news 2 points 3 weeks ago

Not all apps do it. It's an optional feature to my knowledge.

Simple enough, dont care for the AI nonsense, its fine so long as they keep it in its own box.

In this case, boring is good, keep it up the good work, remember to keep your CEO away from the artist formerly known as twitter (they are still in the dog house after last time).

Still waiting for a Proton Drive application for Linux.

[–] MiahNelah@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

We’ll also working on the highly anticipated Linux app. (sic)

That is all that they said, but they also said that years ago when they released it for Windows and Mac. I guess I will just have to see it to believe it.

To support people who have multiple inboxes with other providers and are in the process of switching to Proton, we’re evolving our Forwarding feature. Soon, you’ll be able to send and receive emails from your existing Gmail email address directly from your new Proton Mail inbox.

This is really important for migration of existing users. I'm currently doing it with alt ident in Thunderbird but that requires Proton Bridge running on my infra. For family and friends, this should be a feature native to Proton Mail itself.

If they mean implementing the "send as" feature found in Gmail and FastMail, then it's about fucking time! This feature has been requested so many times across Reddit and User Voice, racking up hundreds and hundreds of votes.

I'm waiting for a notes app.

[–] SirQuack@feddit.nl 5 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

There is standard notes which has become part of Proton. Works pretty decent.

[–] Steve@communick.news 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Kind of part of Proton.
It's still its own whole seperate thing.

[–] PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Tried it but It's 90$ per year except the very basic features that gives you a stupid text document. Fail.

[–] PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Oh! I really thought this is a separate payable account.

This is great.

[–] vatlark@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

The proton drive android app was crazy slow for years. Recently it got much faster so I can finally keep my notes in drive

[–] cosmo@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I really wish for improvements to photo album sharing. It's probably what I miss the most coming from Google Photos.

[–] commander@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Looking forward to improvements to drive/photos/office. I haven't had any trouble with the Linux VPN application but I'll take any improvements

[–] glibg@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago

Please god just add tasks to Calendar.

[–] rando@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

Excited for a better calendar and Linux Drive app. Everything else I am pretty happy with as is
