It makes me mad that so much of the world still thinks we lack empathy. We have lots of empathy. We just can't always read the NT cues to trigger it.
It's also a really messed up world when sticking to the rules (high compliance with ethics, etc.) is considered a deficiency.
Turns out it’s the empathy towards people outside of the group that casts us as outsiders. NTs are truly messed up.
But if you dont hate all the same people as me, how can i believe we're friends?
It’s not that the world thinks you lack the capacity for empathy it’s that you have a huge group of folks stating how little you have ever demonstrated it. At no point are you apparently required to do something but at what point do you bring anything to the table…?
It’s almost like empathy is experienced, not assumed. All while some people keep digging deeper and deeper in a desperate attempt to not actually empathize but instead blame…
I'll take a wild stab and bet it's everything. 🤷🏼♂️
edit: Also, fuck that headline and its implied past tense, as if it's not a near-constant reality for NDs everywhere.
