My country's "evil socialist healthcare dystopia" is far from perfect, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

I didn't learn wtf "copay" was until last year.

I remember seeing the fox news manufactured outrage about "death panels" when Obama care was the big talking point an eternity ago. I always found it hard to understand how that's not an apt description of a hospital board of directors with a profit incentive.

It’s exactly the description of a profit-seeking board of directors. The reason they use projection to spread FUD about good reforms is because when someone says “no u” then it sounds like a pathetic retort instead of facts and the whole thing ends up sounding like immature mudslinging and everyone just gets frustrated trying to parse truth and they throw up their hands and walk away, the news cycle changes. The dog is wagged.

Friendly reminder that recently in America, for-profit nursing homes were caught dropping patients off at homeless shelters

You don't like paying exorbitant monthly fees to pay more unknown fees on top of your co-pay when you decide to use it?

And don't forget. If you do decide to just pay out of pocket, they'll charge you orders of magnitude more than they would charge an insurance provider.

I can't afford insurance and I need hrt :c

Yeah even with the most honest insurance company you can't make a claim "in case you get injured." Is not a bank account lol, it's to pool risk. That's just fundamentally not what insurance is.

Edit: oh shit I didn't read, my bad.

Reread the comic, specifically the first half of that panel.

Hey insurance, I'm injured and need some of that money I gave you in case I get injured.

Shhhhhhhhh.... they're trying to sound intellectual while commenting on a comic that has a butt plug as one of the side characters...

[–] Herr_S_aus_H@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Isn't the butt plug a protagonist in RedDot comics?

[–] The_Che_Banana@beehaw.org 1 points 1 week ago

I'm pretty sure there can be more than one butt plug character....
