Convicted gang rapist Michael Angok has been arrested in Sydney's west five days after escaping custody from Bankstown Hospital.

Before his arrest, police "observed a pair of shoes" belonging to Angok outside a property and set up a crime scene.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday.

It is unbelievable that police did not issue a notice to the community, putting people at risk with a violent rapist on the loose.
