If wasteful spending and fossil fuels become more expensive, less people can afford them, thus being more careful with their spending. Alternatives like electric vehicles and nuclear power become more desirable, and efficiency overall increases.

Yeah I agree.

It also absolutely wrecks low-income households in gas-dependent territories.

I think it's gonna exacerbate a lot of problems, but climate change is probably the one thing it helps against.

Alternatively, it makes domestic oil reserves that are expensive to extract or refine more attractive.

I completely agree.

I also love when meat prices go up because I wager 99% of its consumption is completely unnecessary.
