That explanation is patently idiotic, and so almost certainly true.
That’s crazy if true, Twitter rationing access for users because Twitter itself is falling apart.
Twitter is looking like it is becoming a failed state of social media.
That's hilarious!!
At this point if you still use twitter you are a moron.
before too tbh
If your aim is to convince the users still on the platform to leave the platform, then calling them morons is not a great strategy.
He claimed that the social media platform was "getting data pillaged so much that it was degrading service for normal users".
It turns out that managing one of the largest websites in the world requires more than a skeleton crew!
Looks like there might be a large migration from Twitter to Mastodon soon.
Already hit my limit in like 30 min
Sheesh. What is next, right?
I'm kind of two minds on this actually.
On one hand, limiting the number of posts that you can see on your social media site is insane obviously. It's definitely going to destroy the site. I guess we can welcome yet another group of people on the fediverse pretty soon.
On the other hand, 6000 posts is an awful lot of posts. Assuming that all you do all day is twitter, that's 300 per hour for an entire 18-hour day. If 6,000 post isn't enough for you, maybe he's doing you a favor.
That's if you're a weirdo who pays for Twitter. I barely use Twitter and was just scrolling through the Reddit and Twitter drama and was rate limited in like 30 minutes. To be fair, that's more than enough Twitter for me for the day personally, but yeah that's insane.
I'll hand you that 600 is much less, and you could probably hit a cap without being a compulsive twitterite.
I'm really not a big Twitter user, I was just scrolling reading some of the Reddit and Twitter drama and burned right through it lol.
So, from what I've seen, it also counts comments under a tweet. So if you tap into a tweet, it automatically counts all of the comments as part of your limit. So, if you view a few popular posts, you're done for the day
Just gets worse and worse.
He's certainly failing faster. :P
This is a most excellent place for technology news and articles.
