Today's true anon ep #530 "hate line #1". Does anybody know about the guests? It seems like a press tour appearence to promote their HBO tv show. Neither of which have any relation to the usual themes of TA. I didn't catch any mention that they have any social connection or other explanation. And TV show sounded quite boring, its about homeowners petty fighting.

Liz is on maternity leave or some such. Brace can't carry water let alone a podcast so

I dont think they paid them or anything i think they're just friends with the whole chaposphere considering they appeared on chapo last week

There is a symbiotic relationship between podcasters who are desperate for content, and writers / artists of other mediums who are desperate to plug their new book / podcast / TV series. Like when Malcolm Harris put out Palo Alto, or when Seth Harp put out The Fort Bragg Cartel, they did the rounds on all of these shows. Works in everyone's interests. Even a lightweight podcast can potentially land a heavy-hitting guest when they're desperate to gin up book sales.

sure but those examples are both on topic. generally such guests discuss their work or ideas at length and in detail. in this case, the show was referenced only superficially in a very forced way. nobody had anything interesting to say about it. "people's houses smell weird, especially when I was a kid". k

maybe now they will start having standup comedians.

They've already had Sarah Sherman and John Early who are both basically stand up comedians, or Sarah is at least. I think Brace and Liz have a number of actor/comedian friends, and they bring them on for the sillier gossip episodes

The show is not boring and is at least TA related in that some of the featured homeowners are exceptionally weird. It is a very good show IMO.

You are not immune to propaganda, pirate everything that moves, including your favorite podcasters (except for the-podcast )
