I have a potential contract in Singapore. I know it's not based, but if I can turn that into a full-time job and residency, I'm thinking it might be a better escape hatch than anywhere in eu-cool just by proximity to and relations with some-controversy. Is that part off? It's largely vibes-based.

Then there's the general question about fleeing the imperial core instead of staying and helping my community. I don't have a community. The last place where I knew the names of my next door neighbors was my childhood home, which I left a generation ago. Do I owe it to the people living here to pick a place in amerikkka and join an org or am I ethically free to just pack up and move wherever suits me, even to a place with maybe even less revolutionary potential?

Get that bag, and test the waters for community and like-minded people. Worst case scenario, you've spent a few years making some money, and you can return in a position to be more of service to others.

If this is a long term move consider how climate change will make the already unbearable climate near unlivable in Singapore

I don't know if I'd call it unbearable. When I was there last spring, I found myself changing shirts mid-day but still wanting to hit tourist spots. I definitely wouldn't want to work outside for 8+ hours per day, but that's not what I'd be doing.

On your second point, do you have more specifics or a source?

Also Singaporeans are annoying as fuck due to their countries history and politics and culture

There's little respect for arts or leisure, mostly just money and social status shit

I know a girl from Singapore though, came to US for school, did a bunch of based shit like encampments and lock-ins, so sad she went back home

Yea it's fine for a trip but just remember this would be the rest of your life now every day for years

This is america when it's hot. If you swap in "climate controlled" or "heated" when it's cold you pretty much have america. Even in the nice times in between, the physical and psychological infrastructure is already so centered around taking cars that people will take ubers for short distances in prime 72-and-sunny LA weather.

My nationality might be American, but I'm not gonna follow the ethic of this empire. I'm an internationalist and a proletarian.

I won't fault anywhere for getting out. But I chose to come back. My duty is to work, to do my small part, to destroy the Empire.
