I think people just dont think about competence in politics, they're too wedded to policy and ideology. Like, i can agree that Irans government is evil just like i can agree my house needs a new roof. But i dont want a corrupt felon child rapist contractor doing my roof anymore than i want him leading a war against the Iranian regime.
