Nearly 6 in 10 Fox News viewers disapprove of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, with almost half of voters wanting to slash the agency's funding, according to a new poll from the network.

The study also found that disapproval of ICE's activities is at a record high compared to any Fox poll conducted since 2018. Just 42 percent of respondents approve of the federal agency's performance.

The survey was conducted between February 28 and March 2, just days before DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was fired by President Trump.

Daron Shaw, a Republican pollster, told Fox News that the reason for ICE’s dismal disapproval score is clear.

“This isn’t a complicated story," Shaw said. “ICE’s tactics in Minneapolis, along with negative news coverage, have caused a sharp drop in approval, especially among independents and members of the out-party.”

I keep telling people that CBP has killed more Americans this year than ICE has and the majority of responses are "then let's shut them both down" which is cool.

The poll is of likely voters, not viewers. This is why cries of "fake news" land so well, not even basic fact checking.

I guess the presumption is fox news viewers are mostly trump supporters, so for this group to have a majority against it is pretty notable.

But that's my point. It wasn't a poll of FoxNews viewers as the article says. It was a poll of likely voters.

The mistake makes a big difference.

Fox actually has a pretty good polling team despite their many other deficiencies.

In other words, 40% of them Muricans are totally fine with ICE killing people for fun, while more than 50% are generally fine with the killing but think they should turn it down a notch (i.e. restrict the killing to brown people).

It's not like Noem did anything she wasn't told to do. Trump is behind all of these tactics.
