Who were some of the Roman or other Dynasties "celebs"? And if they got in trouble or something would it be like the Britney Spears DWI crap or how fast would it travel? Any examples? (lemmy.world)

In the Roman republic, if anyone got too popular with the common people the Senate accused them of aspiring to be king and had them extrajudicially murdered.
