Hmmm, looks like this last arc would focus on Setsu. With only two episodes left, it doesn't look like the anime would be able to wrap everything up cleanly.

I was hoping that Kukrushka's backstory can be covered. All we know is that she's a robot modeled after Jonas' wife, and that in some loops / universe, Manan's consciousness gets transferred into her. Why such a transfer? Guess we would never know.

I also wish to learn more about Otome's backstory. I don't remember if it was mentioned, but how is it that she came to be with the crew of DQO? She is an experiment subject - are there more like her? Are the researchers actually good people as she claimed to be?

The biggest unknowns are Setsu, Yuriko and Gnos, but there's a good chance we find out more about them in this last arc.

Maybe this anime is meant to serve as an ad for the game: "if you want a 100% completion, play the game!" sort of thing. It's a pity, but it is what it is.

P.S. spotted a mistake while finding an episode banner! The cherry didn't go into Sha Ming's mouth! (I was trying to get the exact moment when the cherry is on his tongue ๐Ÿ˜)

The cherry went to the left of him.

It would be genius if Yuri solves the mystery of Kukrushka's rampage and utilize it into solving the problem of reuniting with Setsu, one can only hope.

I see where you are going with this. A transfered consciousness may be seen as distinct identity from the universe's perspective, preventing it from getting destroyed.

Actually, it's weird that the duplicate identity thing is even an issue. Bug Yuri and original Yuri are clearly different persons.

Right, they have also not shown us it was ever a problem for Setsu. The universe Setsu went to also has two Setsu and two Real-Yuri, assuming they exist there before Setsu went.

Yuri is the visual novel player that have found all the bad ends and the good end but is trying to play once again because they believe they can reach the True End.

Something bugs me: previously each loop were different timelines, so when last episode Setsu went through the portal, I thought they were just going to a different loop / timeline.

Timelines (loops) themselves are separate enough that real-Yuri gotten erased by gnosia in one loop is enough to have bug-Yuri exist in it stably, without real-Yuri existing in other loops affecting the current loop.

But they seemed to make a distinction here that Setsu went to a different universe which supposedly is totally disconnected to the one we are currently in, and impossible for Setsu to return to and pass on the silver key to past-Yuri.

Or am I reading this totally wrong?

I had the same thought.

From what I can see right now, the easiest - albeit unsatisfying - way for them to explain away all inconsistencies is that this is all a simulation by Gnos.

It would explain why we don't see Levi self-destruct DQO when Gnosia wins: that particular universe(?) has ceased to exist / that particular instance of simulation was stopped! (and Yuri looped before we see this)
