it's not just trump. for decades, one of the core pillars of the entire republican/conservative platform has been to demonize experts in favor of whatever the party says: "alternative facts." deliberate destruction of education; "fake news"; trying to force mandatory jesus--all to make people grow up to obey rather than to think
so now we live in a world where the top minds across the world, who have spent their entire lives building a reputation for credibility in the scientific community are dismissed as "woke"--or whatever kindergarten insult they choose that day--so that legions of cultists take reality to be whatever the GOP pulls out of their ass. all to rob the world blind of course. consequences be damned
