One of the original, and currently largest, punk communities on Lemmy. The purpose of this place should be obvious from the title. Self promotion is ok, but spam is not, so keep it reasonable.

The goal is to help everyone find new tracks from around the world. Post new music, or your old favourites, but hopefully as you browse the group you'll find something you haven't heard before. Think more crate digging than top 40 streaming services.

Where possible please try to link to Bandcamp, so others can support the bands you love.

Steve Albini is dead. Since almost 2 years. I didn't even know!

So much respect for his work, but I never liked this album. I first heard it when I was into the Pixies and it felt like: sounds like Pixies, but without any of the songwriting qualities. That impression hasn't changed in the decades since. Sorry Mr Albini, you still have my full respect, and producing/mixing is just a different kind of creative work.

Hey, yah, BB had a totally different approach to music than Pixies. I got into Balck Francis' band in 87 and it never occurred to me to compare them to Big Black. I'm no musician though so maybe I'm missing something there.
