EA shuttered some damn good studios; Origin, Bullfrog, Maxis, Westwood, etc.
They're not getting another dime out of my big ass.

1. Keep it civil.

2. No sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia or any other flavor of bigotry.
I should not need to explain this one.

Beyond that, go for it. Not everyone is on every site all the time.

Westwood is the one that hurt the most for me. I played so much Red Alert 2.
Have you tried OpenRA?
I've heard of that, but I've never tried it. It's supposed to modernize some of the interface, right?
Last time I got the itch to play and booted up the original, it felt dated... I couldn't get used to the tiny field of view.
Give it a try it’s great.
Bullfrog was so good, I miss it
Even when they release something good— like the Dead Space remake— they think it doesn’t sell enough, so they abandon it all over again.
Edit: typo
Stop buying remakes. This is why we're here. People keep buying the same low effort rerereleases and they think they can just print money
This is why we’re where?
Remakes and remasters are like sequels and remakes of movies; they’re always going to be there because some people want them. I think the Dead Space remake wasn’t low effort at all and is heaps better than the original (not that the original wasn’t good). If they remade (not just remaster) any of the Deus Ex games I’d get them too.
And if I want something original I can have those as well; Routine, Reanimal, Disco Elysium, Arc Raiders, etc.
There’s no dearth of new games, there’s no hampering abundance of remakes and remasters 🤷 I don’t mind revisiting a story I liked with updated graphics and gameplay.
Edit: I forgot they did just remaster Deus Ex and it was half assed. But I’m not buying that, so… I mean I agree not to buy half-assed remakes and use my best judgement. Dead Space was not half assed at all and the devs really loved it.
I've never forgiven them for killing Westwood and Origin.
EA had an ok rep back in the 90's but it got buried by Sims Stuff Packs and sports games that didn't change year-to-year. It's only gotten worse since then with few notable bright spots.
BioWare was excellent. Then, they joined EA. The decline began.
The only way you can fuck up as badly as they have on both the Mass Effect successor (Andromeda) and a Dragon Age game, is to go EA with it.
Milk toasty, as galvanizing and interesting as a white on white painting, dialogue and characters written by an ultra anxious, scared to talk person who then rewashed the dialogue, just to be sure no one would think, well, anything upon encountering it.
Thankfully, Larian picked up where they left off.
I’m honestly surprised they haven’t been dissolved after that last installment.
I loved their NHL games on the Genesis. I played the fuck out of NHL ‘96
And Value agreed to sell it
It's so under-done, I'd have to list it on the menu as 'Early Access' and ask the diners to finish cooking it for me.
