I'm asking because I tried Sync but it's paid, has ads, trackers, mentions Google and Amazon in its privacy policy which was a big red flag for me.

Is Summit open source? Does it have trackers/collection data?

I'm using Sentry for crash tracking. However you can opt out. Otherwise no trackers/data collection.

Ironic, since GitHub is neither open source nor federated. Plus its Microsoft 🤢🤮

While not optimal and something that should ideally be fixed, it's not really ironic.

It's like saying that it's ironic that an offline software needs to be downloaded from a website.
