“I think that Donald Trump is worried that we’re about to flip Texas,” Talarico said, which was met with audience applause. “This is the party that ran against cancel culture, and now they’re trying to control what we watch, what we say, what we read. And this is the most dangerous kind of cancel culture, the kind that comes from the top.”

Talarico accused the Trump administration of “selling out the First Amendment to curry favor with corrupt politicians.”

“A threat to any of our First Amendment rights is a threat to all of our First Amendment rights.”

Watch this if you can. I had it at 1.35 speed and that was about right. This is what every red state democrat should be like and be doing.

Had to bail on the neverending religion/god talk.

Dude, I get it, but he's the best kind of Christian for the red states. He wants a separation of church and state and fought for it. He tells everyone to love their neighbor no matter if they're LGBTQ+, another ethnic group or another religion. This is the best red state candidate there is.

Yep. He actually follows Christ. It's nice to see

Yeah, Talarico is an anti-christian nationalist Christian who actually believes and follows the actual teachings of Jesus...he's living proof that real Christians still exist and understand biblical teachings about liberal ideas. Jesus is too liberal for most pretend Christians, aka evangelicals. Evangelicals aren't actually Christian, because Christ's teachings are too liberal for their conservative hate and bigotry. They just usurped the religion to teach the hateful side of it. They use it and abuse it.

If he actually followed Christ he wouldn't be a millionaire but sure, he's way ahead of the curve as far as most American "Christians" are concerned

I hear you. And everyone else. And even agree. I just can't stand listening after a while. I had my own religious upbringing and I'm not happy about it. I appreciate everyone's comments here.

I support this guy and hope he does well, but anyone who is this religious, but also simultaneously smart and competent must have some dangerous psychothapy below the surface. Wait did I say I support him, hmm.
