I don't think that's a very good quote to sum up the article. He may have said it, but he is clearly taking "days off" and looking after his mental health, as he should.

You can't help anyone if you burn out or drive yourself to suicide, so taking care of yourself is extremely important to ensure that you can keep turning up. And for such a high strain job, you really need to take care of yourself.
