Fascism is back in fashion I see. Rimshot.

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago

Isn't this Facebook, which is shit now

Is the CDU also willing to put their money where their mouth is? We haven't had one year without some internet service being breached. So, are those politicians going to pay when our real identities are exposed?

And when they're at it, how about some actual recourse when you get banned?

[–] eleitl@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago

You're going to be slapped a fine you can't appeal if you're posting an opinion outside the Party's overton window. They need your ID so it's less work that way.

some actual recourse when you get banned?

I'm banned from reddit from suggesting that Peter Thiels assets should be liquidated, the man turned to soup.

The most banal of opinions is now automatically being banned.

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

I got 1 bann for saying "the organisation system of the german trains needs to be burned down and rebuild a new on a clean slate" obviousely this is figure of speech. They saw it as call for terrorism.

And then another ban for saying "Sprich deutsch du hurensohn" which is/was an inside joke in ich-iel and only done there.

[–] Patrikvo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Ah, the Rule 1 violation. Mainly because they just pick the first thing as an excuse to ban.

[–] actionjbone@sh.itjust.works 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Yes but what kind of soup

This is important

[–] greyscale@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 12 hours ago

chemical soup.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I got a violation, a second one I think, a 3 day ban, at which point I abandon accounts and never log in again, 1 year back, for suggesting Musk be aboard one of his spaceships. That's it. I guess in the context of them blowing up all the time it's a call for violence, which is how they labelled it. I quit for a couple of months before starting another account, between them right now too, went through like 4 last year, while I took at least 4 months off.

I'm trying to ween myself off reddit.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I haven't been on in a month now. But it's weird, I had cleared cookies dozens of times, looking for links to streaming a show, as search engines are enshitified and no longer provide them, I found a reddit page a couple of times, it looked like I was logged in somehow, anyway a third time I came back to one of their pages, not having logged in, and set up so I had to type my username to log in, its not automatic, I checked and somehow I was logged in.

For a month? How did that happen? I closed and cleared cookies and checked back and it didn't log me in automatically.

How could that possibly have happened? Is it hacked? Was it logged in for a month, despite clearing the cookies like every day?

[–] greyscale@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

In the bad old days where I was forced to make spyware in exchange for a white collar paycheque, we used to make things called "supercookies" that used basically any fingerprint, storage, glitches of a browser to store a token or otherwise identify you with or without identity

We had something like 98% confidence even if you had no cookies, based on just using JS to eyeball your browser and probing it.

Not saying its a "supercookie" but the internet is funny like that. The current bleeding edge of it seems to be abusing favicon caches

[–] hector@lemmy.today 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have heard of these. After 1/6 I was going to sign up for Gab or one of those right wing social medias that was popular to see what they were saying and sharing, and on the sign in they demanded I authorize "permanent cookies," which I refused to do. Reading about them everyone else called them persistent cookies.

But after this incident I checked the cookies and firefox doesn't show any of these persistent cookies, I don't know how one would even find them and remove them if they don't show up.

I also am chagrined that PC's don't protect you from this. Like you should have to explicitly agree to such a thing, and be given tools to see what is on there, and remove them as you see fit. Just one more step into not owning our own electronics and just using it at the permission of the manufacturers and whomever else.

But reddit never did that to me before. Why would it log me in without telling me? It's still quite odd there has to be a reason, and it almost has to be a hacker or something I would think. As fantastical as that sounds.

[–] greyscale@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 hour ago

Its not about permissions, its about giving you the occular patdown and making observations.

I don't need to know who you are, but that you're unique and heres how I tell you are you.

I can later relate that back to PII if I'm clever.

I hated working in the marketing/tracking space.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Rip the bandaid off. It'll feel better before you know it.

[–] greyscale@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 2 hours ago

I did, I've deleted my habitual bookmark and put lemmy in the same place on the bar.

But the volume of discourse isn't quite here yet.

But I do like not being banned (twice, the second time an experiment to determine if it was automated, it was) for suggesting Peter Thiel should be turned into soup.

To the point that I'm gonna get it printed on a T-shirt.

As if, this is probably all about Israel somehow. One wonders if there is a german equivalent of Epstein.

[–] Patrikvo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

At this point, I'm convinced anyone higher than a HOA president is in those files. For Epstein, all those people were his Pokémon.

[–] kokesh@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Fuck this shit. Why is everyone going full nazi?

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 3 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

CDU is the fascist party of Germany, while AFD is the Nazi part.

[–] vacuumflower@lemmy.sdf.org 0 points 22 hours ago

Because the system for going full Nazi has been built. For actual Nazis it was radio. Today it's the Internet.

To be used for control it has to be regulated. It can be regulated so it will be.

Architecture defines outcome.

As the EU stated: the DSA is sufficient. There’s no reason for a law on top of a law.

How else are they going to, let me check notes, can't read my writing here, stamp out anti salmonism? What a joke, a dishonest system wants everyone's information to let palantir type organizations create social scores and threat asssessments based on half baked and dishonest metrics, with ways for their authorities to make sure you get a bad score even when it's not warranted by their rules.

All done in secret, used against you in secret, and promulgated to business, to be used in deciding jobs, loans, what prices you are offered, even what search results you will be shown online. How the police treat you, the courts treat you.

This is surrendering their citizens to tech, no matter what they tell you, for a cut of the information and a position to direct the all encompassing surveillance past despots couldn't dream of, they are surrendering all of your information to tech, that will export all of this data no matter what they tell you, no matter how it's supposed to be secure. Their data banks will get it, and the US government will get it.

The entire system will be vulnerable, by design I suspect, to hackers, foreign intelligence agencies, oligarchs and their security contractors, criminal groups, religious groups, and any organized group with axes to grind on someone(s.)

To allow this, by these constitutionally dishonest people helming a government losing control in real time to a far right intent on fixing elections with the help of the US and Russia is just astounding. This kind of arrogant betrayal of the population will all but guarantee the far right wins sooner than later. While the lawmakers passing this think the plutocratic rot will continue with sold out parties continuing indefinitely, as if they aren't already bleeding support and credibility. Get popular reform.

Either you give them popular reform, or the far right, in the service of Russia and the US, will give (fake,) popular reform, and the formers will help them fix them in power just as they have done and are doing themselves. The republics are in mortal danger, liberal democracy is all but doomed under current leadership because the plutocracy's death grips on political parties continues despite the situation.
