For anyone still naively clinging to the idea that corporate cloud offerings are private and safe - wake up. Everything youve put in these clouds is up for grabs from government, hackers and data brokers.

Years ago Google made a deal with Mastercard to purchase credit card history. And it's highly likely that companies other than Google and Mastercard have made similar deals.

Even if you aren't using the public cloud, the public cloud is tracking you.

In this case, it was a British woman who had gone into hiding, so I'd imagine tracing payments to figure out where she is? Of course, it could also be something as dumb as "bullying your bank to freeze your accounts without a court order to lock you out of everyday life."
