IMDb has an advanced search thing where you can query their database based on a lot of criteria.

Here are the results of movies released in 2025 with rating of 8 or higher, sorted by popularity. (So perfect 10s with like 6 total votes don't count as popular.)

You could refine your search further to exclude non English movies, perhaps.

The advanced search on IMDb is so useful and so powerful. If they ever take that away it's gonna be a huge loss.

Yeah I discovered it for myself just as I posted this.

I knew they had a very powerful search thing for your Watch List, so I figured they should have it for the entire database as well, and so they did.

Unfortunately though, not available in the app as far as I could tell.

You mean released in 2025? No clue about 100, but start with Bugonia.

Released any year? Well, I'd tailor recommendations to your genre preferences. Not everyone likes horror, or superheroes, or a sad dog movie, even if any of those may make it into top lists.

The order of this list is highly debatable but this is a literal top 100 list. It might be easier to start with two critics top 10 lists here . Most big streaming sites like HBO are highlighting the movies they run that are up for awards but you might be able to find some on free sites like kanopy , although several are still in theaters.
