However, there are ways to get around YouTube’s paywall to access these features for free. This usually includes turning to a browser that’s not Chrome and using ad blockers. Those who use these workarounds are now reporting that one commonly used feature is now broken.

My guess would be browser other than Google Chrome. But idk not entirely sure.

Brave on Android still works for me, although given Google's propensity to do unannounced AB testing on its users, I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't hold true for most other people.
