This is trying to play whack-a-mole by whacking one mole every 20 years and then declaring victory.

Blatant costumer abuses and wasteful practices like printer ink cartridges wouldn't be even allowed to happen if we had an adequate legal framework to begin with.

Kinda too bad it's ONLY about the environmental impact so it likely won't lead to also banning the practice of making the carts proprietary so, like, you can't use non-HP carts with your HP printer.

Shit is insane that you can have two identical carts, but you can't use one becsuse your printer reads a special chip to "authorize" the use of the cart.
