Peter Thiel's visit to the Institute of France, a learned society in the heart of Paris, was kept secret until the very last moment. There, behind closed doors, he was due to speak at a meeting of members of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, a working group intended to discuss "the future of democracy." The group, chaired by former minister Hervé Gaymard, has previously interviewed 25 figures, all French, mainly legal scholars, political scientists and historians.

So glad he could find the time to self promote like that. I mean he is so busy destroying the American Economy and Privacy, he must have found it so important to rant about him being the Dark Messiah and covering up those number birthmarks so he could go out in society...

I'm now imagining that Peter Thiel is actually possessed by a demon, and these speeches are the human who was caged inside his husk, trying to warn us of the bloated satanic demonstration possessing Theil's body.

There was a BtB on this. Essentially, from what the podcast creator can glean from what information has leaked, data center opposition, tech opposition, privacy proponents are the Antichrist.

But until someone sits in on the entire thing and waits it out until the end before posting to social media, we will not have the full context, not really know what this man is saying.

Can you imagine being born French, growing up in a culture that is so educated, so culturally refined, so cynical of everything and with such a jaundiced eye towards everything America is about, then becoming a political scholar in that society - only to be completely fooled by a random visit from Peter Thiel?

Can you imagine being a member of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques and finding out someone above you organised, approved, and kept this from you? How could anyone have faith in such an institution after this.

I'd be devastated. A call for resignations would not be out of order.

I'm french and I'm not surprised. A lot of our "elites" are 183 years old men with a giant ego and will cling to anyone and anything going their way
