Hats are definitely optional in some of those. It's just a tradition thing
NPCs (NonPolitical Comics)
A community for comic lovers who just want to get away from politics and gloom and doom.
- Rule 1 - Be civil.
- Rule 2 - Don't be uncivil.
Posting guidelines:
- No political comics. This generally includes anything referencing whatever bullshit Trump is up to, but also includes the megacorps. Essentially if the comic is about how the world today sucks, it doesn't belong here.
- Where possible, tag the title with [comic name]. This refers to the name of the artist or overall comic, not the title of the specific strip.
- Tag NSFW / NSFL / AI content accordingly.

The value of a belief system should manifest itself, and be judged by others, onlt via the actions of its adherents, and not a cheap accessory.
But what about the LACK of cheap accessories?
Yes but then people would realize that any belief system with a sufficiently large number of adherents would have the same value, as you’ll always have some dumb schmucks behaving like shit and some good people acting in an inspiring way.
Gotta be able to categorize them somehow !! /s
Here's George Carlin doing the racist act that made him famous.
Oh wow. That comic starts off cute but made me feel slightly uneasy (I consider myself a hardcore atheist but come on guys, just live and let live) but that video…
I feel quite able to put things back into their historical context, and genuinely thought that maybe that act wasn’t going to be so bad when he starts the US Army sergent schtick, but no… don’t find this redeemable in any way. Like you say, it’s racist, and not much else.
I really like Carlin and I totally put that act in it's historic perspective. He was doing it on the Smothers Brothers show, and they had a long history of fighting censorship.
On the other hand, I think Carlin himself would be laughing at the people who treat him like a spiritual guide.
He was a professional entertainer, and he even had a shortlived show on Fox.
Now I want to make a church based on wearing marnificient hats, and get tax exemption status on clothing, since a nice hat requires nice clothing too.
In my country, there was a controversy with the Church of Car Repairmen, who got tax exemptions on car parts as items of worship.
