In the name of original fediverse content, here's a little of what I took last year:

spoiler

All in Tanzania, taken on this old girl:

They're unedited; I just exported them to avif with ffmpeg.

The most scared I got was on foot, in front of these guys:

Buffalo do not like tourists. Not at any distance. Our park ranger was casually nuts, in the best of ways:

And even he got nervous around them.

Anyway, my takeaway is that big cats are just... housecats. Unless they're guarding a cub/kill, they couldn't care less about tourists, and just lie around and do cat things pretty much like OP's photo.

EDIT

I offer no context:

Really cool shot. Gives me the same vibe as the workers on lunch sitting along the beam in the skyscraper.

But why did you post it in 636x372? It's like posting a 144p video.

And metro forces you to accept cookies for personalised ads or pay to deny. Don't post shit like this here, at least add a link to get past that.

He does have his own website but it's sadly down because of exceeded bandwidth limit, so I'll try to get in contact with him to see if he'll be able to fix it. In the meantime here's a better link: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/photo-of-the-day/photo/resting-lions-tanzania
