It Doesn't Exist

There have been places that I used to go to that don't exist anymore. A coffee shop I used to go to everyday shutdown years ago. One of the schools I went to was torn down.

Day Twenty-Six Prompt

The world is constantly changing around us. Sometimes it's good to sit back and remember places that don't exist anymore, especially if we have strong memories associated with them.

Write About a Place that Doesn't Exist Anymore.

Note: These prompts are being supplied as a completely optional item for you to use, if you are stuck on what to write. In fact, you might want to use one of the earlier prompts later in the month if you get stuck.

Leader Board Update

Here is the link to the leaderboard. If you want to join us in the event, use the Join Code listed in the sidebar on the right. (Yes, we're kind of far into the event, but still if you've been following along all month, and would like to see your progress graphed out, please go ahead and join.)

Resources

If you haven’t seen them already, we have two (hopefully) helpful documents:

And, if you didn’t have it already, here is the link to the TrackBear App.

Closing Note

If you haven’t posted before, leave us a comment below. We’d love to get to know all the participants in the event.

For me, it's a few places, all the same - blockbuster, the game store near my house, and even the grocery store near me. All of them used to rent games and movies. I wish I could share this with my son, who's two. The thrill on a Friday of walking around and finding the perfect movie to rent that night, a mysterious game you hadn't heard of to play all week, a bag of popcorn to share, and a sneaky candy your mom said was ok. I hope we find some of the wonder we left behind when we chose convenience.

Bend, OR is the location of the last remaining Blockbuster in existence, though I don't think it's shut down yet. That location became "The Last Blockbuster" in 2018, despite it being independently owned nowadays.
