Why would I want to write and read blog posts in my messenger? It's great to see this client being actively developed, I just wonder about the use-case.

Maybe not write them on a mobile app, but reading them seems no different than for example reading posts on your Mastodon or Lemmy app.

I agree that integrating a Mastodon or Lemmy app into an XMPP app wouldn't make much sense, but since these blogs are XMPP native, it is really just some interface work to be able to see them in the app.

Aside from that, many commercial messenger apps have started integrating feed like features for getting news and so on. So people are somewhat getting used to have these things in their messenger apps and also ask for this to be available in XMPP apps.
