Good morning fellow free-thinkers and tea drinkers!๐Ÿง ๐Ÿซ–

Thank you to those who have joined over the last 24 hours, it is a pleasure to have you here.

Whilst I prepare this sub to make it refined and polished, I thought we could engage in some community banter!

Rate your favourite, and least favourite, teas (other hot beverages are allowed, of course)!

Meanwhile, if you have any thoughts as how you would like this sub to operate, please do voice! I think a tea drinking, knowledge sharing space ought to be democratic.

S-tier: Lemongrass tea grown from seeds.

My lemon grass froze so I need to plant some more.

A-tier: Chamomile tea, Hibiscus tea

Is lemongrass difficult to grow? I might need to try myself.

Spearmint in the day, Chamomile and Hibiscus at night - they latter make me ever so sleepy!

It's not difficult to grow but it is a tropical plant. Below freezing temperatures will kill it.

See, we are drinking tea and learning - sub success!

Currently in the med so I'm sure I can give it a go!

F-tier: This cinnamon orange looseleaf. How could a looseleaf be so bad? It just tastes like stale cinnamon. A-tier: That one cup of cheap CTC tea while camping. Why does camping elevate foods and make the mediocre taste so much better?

[โ€“] prinx@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm yet to try a cinnamon fusion that doesn't just taste like cinnamon, to be honest.

The wilderness and tea go hand-in-hand, I do agree!

It must be that Ontario fresh air. The cinnamon flavored stuff is fit only for the compost heap. Does anyone else feel absurdly guilty throwing out tea, no matter how flavorless it is?

My grandfather always said: "There's no such thing as bad beer, just some beers are better than others". Does the same hold for tea? In which case, I would feel guilty throwing out liquorice tea.

You've given me courage. First thing tomorrow, out it goes.

Peach > Lemon though, right?

[โ€“] Sergio@piefed.social 2 points 3 months ago

Unflavored.

S tier Barry's Gold Blend โค๏ธ

[โ€“] prinx@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

A truly sublime blend

Probably A or S tier-ish:ย 3 scoops dark roast yaupon, 1 scoop dried agastache, 5 spicebush seeds, splash of maple syrup, and frothed milk.

F tier-ish: anything with peppermint

[โ€“] prinx@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Now that's a drink! Sounds like you're a tea magician, Remy.

Must disagree on F-tier placement for peppermint. I think C/D - it's like cleaning your teeth slowly.

Thanks! I have a weird thing for native plants lol. Also sorry to all the peppermint heads out there, no judgment ๐Ÿ˜

Indeed. Peppermint only belongs in chocolate bars.
