Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

The battery is expected to come from Chery’s Rhino S solid-state battery, with an energy density reaching 600 Wh/kg. Currently, polymer, oxide, and sulfide are the three main stream alternative electrolytes for solid-state battery development. Chery is betting on the oxide route.

Very impressive numbers if true. I'm happy with half or even a third of that range, but I guess there are people willing to pay for that.

The numbers are probably massaged as usual but the important thing is they keep pushing capabilities to make all the defences of ICE engines less attractive.

I had to look up WTF a shooting brake was, and it's a station wagon without rear passenger doors and a stupid name. But this does have rear doors, so... just trying to be different I guess? Maybe station wagon is an antiquated / out of fashion name.

Shooting brake has been used for wagons with sloping roofs for years, just like coupe for 4 door sedans with similar roofs. Some examples: second gen Merc CLS wagon, CLA wagon, Kia's proceed wagon. There are some that stay true to the old definition like Aston's Zagato shooting break. If you really stretch it, Opel Astra G van is kind of a shooting break, and ig Honda's Aerodeck also fits.
In the end marketing will make anything meaningless if it results in more sales.
