You could just use stoat.chat (formerly known as Revolt) instead of Root, especially with Stoat being FOSS and Root seemingly being proprietary.

I do use Stoat chat, I just wanted to know what others thought

Checked Digg like the day after it released, and it felt like a discount Facebook in UI, and a discount Reddit in UX. Also no RSS or other forms of following externally, which is a no go for me.

The other one, I'm not familiar with.

Digg is just a shallow VC play that acquired the name and brand I think. No actual relation to OG Digg AFAIK. At launch they had only closed Android and iOS apps, no web.

OP: What makes you interested in thes and what's your own take? BTW please try to put a more descriptive title for future posts!

While you're not wrong that it's a 'shallow VC play', Kevin Rose actually re-bought the brand with partner and Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian!
