China will catch up to nvidia and AMD in the not too distant future and the cost of gpus and ram will plummet. Its just a matter of holding out for a few years.

Even then the international market will be saturated with Chinese products. The price for amd/nvidia will have to come down to compete.
Again, why would the price have to come down in the US, Europe, and Western aligned nations if AMD and NVidia have government enforced monopolies? Other nations aren’t importing computer parts to that insane of a degree either so the market would hardly be saturated in the nations where Chinese products aren’t banned.
Are you aware of what happened with BYD cars? Why wouldn’t the same thing just happen? The global price for electric cars hasn’t fallen substantially at all.
EV prices have dropped dramatically just not in the west. The price of EVs in China has plummeted and they make up half of EV sales.
The difference is that western countries have their own car industries. They have tariffs as defensive measure to protect local industry. That is why westerners don't see that drop in EV prices... yet. (canada just dropped its ev tariff from 100% to 6 and europe is in negotiations to lower theirs.)
usa is the only country with a GPU industry to protect. So only they would put tariffs on GPUs.
Do you not think that the US wouldn’t strong arm Europe and the West's puppet states? Why wouldn’t they? The US would absolutely cash it’s political power to prevent China from gaining market share.
Also of course EVs plummeted in China, but the price is relatively stable worldwide.

idk what kind of games you play but i got a mid-tier gpu in 2020 and i haven't even thought of upgrading since. that said, the most intensive game i've played recently is deadlock and i also have a 1080p 75Hz monitor
Hardware kind of hit the end of Moore's law back in 2020. None of the modern day CPUs or GPUs are even that much better, and the ones that are "better" are only because the dies are bigger, meaning you're just paying for more transistors rather than better transistors, so they draw more power and get way hotter. A lot of the recent "upgrades" in Nvidia GPUs are software/driver upgrades that could in principle run on a 3000 series card just fine but they lock them behind 5000 series to force you to buy it, but that also means if you really want/need fake frames for some reason there are third-party software options that run on any GPU like Lossless Scaling. You can still pick up a 12GB 3060 for $250 on eBay, and even as low as $200 if you're patient to snipe an auction, and it can still play AAA games like Black Myth Wukong.

tbh I do not know as I do not own any AMD GPUs outside of an RX580 and RX480.

actually my gpu was probably on the lower end even then. granted, i mostly play disco elysium and tf2. still, i don't remember having any issues with newer games on medium graphics

I already decided that the next time I'm going to upgrade my PC it would be Chinese or Russian (highly impossible) parts.
Btw Russia managed to make an stm32 analogue (Baikal-U), which is going to be released in this month 👁️, and I'm waiting to order one for testing

I grabbed a 16GB VRAM edition 4060Ti and 48 GB of RAM back in 2024 right before prices exploded and it was one of my best decisions. I have a PS5 but it's just collecting dust because I'd much rather be able to do everything in one place, not to mention the majority I'm interested in playing are either indie of strategy type games that aren't on the PS5 anyway. But yeah the current situation sucks, it's clear big companies are planning to choke people out of PC ownership so they can eventually force people into cloud based computing where they can charge ridiculous subscription fees and leave people completely powerless.
It's the exact same as what has been happening in the housing market where real estate companies have been buying up homes on mass and forcing people into rentership. Consoles are also being negatively effected because they use same RAM and GPUs that are are being strangled.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to purchase one, but I don't like the idea of cloud-streaming either, which I already do.
I want to actually own my console.
