In short:

US President Donald Trump has asked Australia and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to join his 'Board of Peace' that would aim to progress the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Dozens of countries and leaders have been invited, according to a list first reported by Bloomberg.

What's next?

If Australia joins, it will be a member for at least three years and would need to pay $US1 billion to remain on the Board of Peace beyond that.

I really hope we aren't dumb enough to contribute protection money to that pudding brain Mafia Don.

There is no redeeming feature of paying the money up, it's just a chance to be part of Trump's sycophant club.

I’m sure Albo is jumping for joy at the chance to waste a billion of our dollars bribing Trump, while further contributing to the genocide of Gazans.
