Im trying to find a few different softwares

  1. screen recording and/or streaming (preferably lighter weight)

  2. Soundboard and other goofy audio stuff

Me and a few friends run some small low quality shitpost gaming channels and I thought it would be funny if I could just randomly chuck sounds in chat and make it a bit more shitposty. We have a lot of fun with it and don’t care for the views, just post for us.

OBS is the gold standard for recording but it may be a bit heavyweight for your liking.

Soundux is a good but maybe a bit confusing soundboard

I had high hopes for soundux but it just doesn't compare to SoundPad (windows only). It's a very finicky piece of software

SimpleScreenRecorder never failed me. Does what it says.

You could also try Kazam.

Aw it sucks it’s Linux only since dad won’t swap from windows to Linux

Have a great day

You could try https://winuxos.org/ and see if he notices any difference. What could possibly go wrong? ;)

Great day to you too

VLC can do this. The streaming part might be tricky because it won’t do the networking for you, but it’s easy enough to screen record to a file.
