The Department of Education said Friday it will temporarily delay forced collections on federal student loans. The pause applies to collection efforts such as Administrative Wage Garnishment and the Treasury Offset Program.

“The Department determined that involuntary collection efforts such as Administrative Wage Garnishment and the Treasury Offset Program will function more efficiently and fairly after the Trump Administration implements significant improvements to our broken student loan system," said Under Secretary of Education Nicholas Kent.

Friday’s announcement appears to mark a reversal in policy. The department began sending wage garnishment notices earlier this month, the first step in a process that could have automatically deducted up to 15% of a borrower’s paycheck. About 1,000 notices had been sent to borrowers in default, representing a small fraction of the more than 5 million borrowers who have defaulted on their federal student loans.

Yeah, they read the polls showing their approval rating is falling even among Trump supporters and decided to stop pouring fuel on the fire before they are cooked.

No the real truth is they don't have any one competent who can actually fulfill the request. They don't give damn about mid terms they are working on rigging that now.

You're giving them too much credit.

They're putting on a stage play using paid agitators ($50k signing bonus, equipment included) and the unwilling residents of Minnesota.

The outcome, for everyone not directly affected is that our eyeballs and emotions are assaulted daily as if it were us being tear gas, flash banged etc. This creates feelings of fear and uncertainty that do not match our reality (unless you're in Minnesota, or other directly affected areas of course).

For the low price of someone else's tax dollars and the lives of countless innocents, Trump is creating a reality show that could potentially make a lot of, chronically online, people avoid voting because of fear.

That's how they're trying to rig the elections. They may have die hard loyalists in some places (who will probably die, of old age, in a federal prison) who're willing to commit fraud and there may be a few billionaires who are suicidal enough to take a shot at Treason...

But, if you look at their team... They are completely out of competence. The AG of SDNY has essentially been invalidated by the courts. Trump has lost the vast majority of cases in court (notice how the National Guard isn't deployed anymore?) and even his remaining lackeys are being targeted by personal judicial sanctions (which cannot be pardoned).

The military told Trump to go fuck himself when he tried to get them to plan to invade Greenland. That is a blatantly illegal order (ownership of Greenland is part of a treaty that was ratified by congress and is part of federal law, there's no grey area). This is why he's doing dumb shit like threatening tariffs, because he cannot use the military. He can lie about it all day to scare peoole but he's impotent otherwise.

Look at the polling, the legal filing and the other hard factual data. They're losing on every front that matters, they just have a strong propaganda campaign and it is pushing fear and anger as hard as possible because their only chance is to make people too afraid to vote.

If you want to kick that strategy in the balls, focus on promoting the upcoming midterms, make sure your voter registration hasn't been invalidated and VOTE. Make sure everyone you know does the same.

Pretend that election day is the Super Bowl and the halftime show is a lot of impeachments, congressional investigations and felony conspiracy trials.

If we're lucky we may get to see treason charges and hanged traitors.

Don't defeat yourself by pretending that this clown show is effective or competent. Vote and we can bury these fuckstains in prison for the rest of their lives
