A freemium internet site with ads, you say? Who could have predicted this happening?

It's crazy anyone took Altman seriously when he suggested the site wouldn't have ads. Hell, it's crazy to think anyone believed the prior iterations of the tools weren't crawling with ads and other sponsored content it had ingested during the course of sucking off the internet on the first pass.

Use the ai to immediately trash the ads it endorses

So what we have discovered about the Internet in the last 35 years is that the only way to make money is advertising. I think I'm just kinda done with it. I'll stay connected for pirating and Lemmy but I just don't see the appeal anymore. All the fun stuff is gone and dead.

Oh no! I guess I'll continue not using AI bullshit

Good. I’m happy to think that the dipshits that use it are about to be annoyed as the rest of us are when we see the slop they churn out. They deserve every minute of frustration and annoyance.

Anyone else remember the company Loopt? Of course not, because no one used it.

That didn't stop Altman from getting eight figures for it. Later comes out that they have under 1000 active users.

He's a con man and the above is probably the least icky part of his story.

If those ads will be in the response you get its really bad. If they show ads in a banner, no problem.

The vast majority of their users:

"Thanks chatGPT, I am hungry for that, thanks!"

I'll leave it up to you to figure out what kind of ads they'll be running.
