So I've really been enjoying a lot of cheap jewelry on my days off and I really liked these slip-on false nails (it's actually a really fun stim like putting bugles on your fingers and clickety clacking them and tapping them on things) but they keep popping off the metal tabs on the rings and sometimes they're a lil uncomfy so I was trying to find little foam discs to put on the underside of the nails over the metal tab part of the rings that they're superglued to for extra structure and comfort but I can't find any small and thin enough. These ones are kinda small enough but they're still about 2x too thick and all my attempts to trim / thin them have gone poorly. The diameter isn't an issue that's easy enough to trim down but I need thinner ones (and without glitter, a bunch of them are craft supplies with glitter which would be very messy and scratchy). Any thoughts? Here's some reference pics with what I have now and the thumb and pinky nails for scale.

Try searching for "furniture feet pads", I think that's what you might be describing? However my concern is that they will all be too stiff to attach to the curved nails nicely.

Instead, could you line the insides of the nails with thick pieces of felt from a craft store?

What about hydrocolloid sheets? Not sure if it would be enough adhesion but hydrocolloid bandaids/sheets cut to size seem like they would smooth out the surface at least.

Sometimes the nose nibs on glasses bother me and I’ll put a tiny hydrocolloid sticker on each nib to protect my skin. Eventually they start disintegrating and I just swap for fresh ones.

The ones designed to be waterproof bandaids are probably more adhesive than the ones designed for spots or scars.

Honestly I was starting to consider this line of thought. Maybe if I applied it while the superglue is still wet too.

I too can't understand what you were describing, but maybe rubber feet?

Not totally clear on how you're intending to use them, but instead of foam, maybe try the little silicone bumpers they sell for silencing cupboard doors? You might be able to find different shapes and sizes and varieties of thickness. Also similar things available in felt.

Bumpers would be too rounded / thick to sit on top of my nails I would think, but felt is a thought! ty!

Here's a different direction - try using Goop adhesive to better attach the rings to the nail.

Use more though to cover the ring, and create an insulating layer to make it more comfortable.

When Goop "hardens" it's rubbery, so may be more comfortable than the ring itself, and you can shape it when you apply it. I do this by licking my finger (saliva prevents it sticking, this is an old caulking trick), then shaping with my finger. It cures quickly, so you need to do this immediately.

I use Goop for everything under the sun. It sticks to nearly everything, is very strong, and yet... removeable. It's like extra thick rubber cement.
