For discussion of the Pebble smartwatch.

I really liked the original version of Android Wear that just used informative cards linked to supported apps on the phone. I can’t stand the new versions that are essentially a tiny phone strapped to my wrist. I am looking forward to getting the Pebble Round 2.
Too bad the pebble leader and primary developer group are at odds with each other right now https://www.howtogeek.com/rebble-kept-old-pebble-watches-alivenow-its-work-is-being-stolen/
That's from November, it seems like since then they have worked out some of their issues and agreed on a plan to cooperate.

We have a better understanding of how Eric interacted with the App Store API, and we don’t think that he intended to “steal” from us there.
One of the things that we’ve understood from both our blog post and Eric’s is that we have real common ground: what matters to both of us is keeping the Pebble ecosystem alive and kicking. And from the community reaction, what we hear is clear: we can only do that by working together.

Pebble Appstore now has a publicly available backup and supports multiple feeds, providing long term reliability through decentralization.
The situation cool down quite a bit after Pebble release 100% of their code which allows people to compile and run their own android app to talk with their pebbles. While there's still some misgivings and bad blood between rebble community and pebble at least nobody is pressing charges and throwing public accusations anymore. That's just my impression lurking in rebble discord server though.
This is a bit misleading.
Rebble is a group that acquired pebble IP from fitbit and later google, adding to an already big repo of apps and functionality, but more importantly making it open source.
When core devices started working with them, they apparently withheld some of the new firmware work from rebble, which violated the terms of the agreement and the license.
This has since been resolved.
