I would love a new Switch 2 game that isn't an upgrade pack or a re release

I swore to myself I wouldn't buy a switch 2 for this reason. Then I saw a huge discount for the switch 2 + Mario kart world. So I bought it as I have no willpower. Now I feel stupid.

Same brother, same. Lol

Mario Tennis Fever is coming in Feb, and Pokémon Pokopia in March, hopefully we will get release date for rest of the games soon too.

There's nothing on the list that I'm really looking forward to. I might try out the Super Mario Bros. Wonder update, but that's it for first parties. This is mostly good news, it means I can go through my backlog and catch up!

That said, there'll probably be a Direct in January/February to announce new games coming out in 2026 and maybe even some shadow drop...

I have been looking forward to checking out Poktopia. And I might give Animal Crossing another whirl on the switch2.

I like the idea of Splatoon, but I never ended up playing them enough to justify buying another.

Splatoon Raiders is a single-player spin-off. So, if you didn't play the previous games because they were multiplayer games, this can be worth trying.

I am looking forward to Pokopia, Wonder, Yoshi, FE and Splatoon Raiders.

I am not 100% sold on Pokopia but going to keep an eye on it. As for FE, I am still playing FE: Three Houses, and have FE: Engage to play after that, so won't be getting FE: Fortune's Wave anytime soon. Wonder I missed, as I was playing other games, so now will wait for the Switch 2 version.

Yoshi and Splatoon will probably be day-1 releases though, but you never know, was planning to play Metroid Prime 4 day-1 too.

Pokopia looked interesting, but it's a game key card, so I'm definitely not going to consider it. Yoshi looks really cool, I might consider it if the reviews are really good. But I haven't really played/enjoyed much of the Yoshi games since the SNES.

As someone who only buys digital, game key cards doesn't effect my buying decision, but sad to see Game Freak (it's Game Freak, right?) opting for GKC.

I (and my family) loved Yoshi's Crafted World, so we are really hyped for the next Yoshi game. If I am not busy with anything else, that is pretty much a guaranteed day-1 buy for us.

What's the free update for AC? All I've seen is the $5 Switch 2 upgrade (for existing owners of the game) and I am not even sure it's worth it. Like... What actually is gonna be upgraded about it?

[–] MoonRaven@feddit.nl 2 points 6 days ago

AFAIK, the following is paid: Mouse control Improved graphics Megaphone Multi-player cap upgrade Gamechat integration with USB cam

A free update is also coming to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game for the Nintendo Switch console on 15 January. This update features a new resort hotel run by Kapp’n’s family, new themed items and characters, extra exclusives like Slumber Island for Nintendo Switch Online members and more.

Woohoo! Rhythm Heaven won't be gated by the Switch 2. A shocking development, but one I'm happy for

anything on a GKC is out of the question for me. anything over 60USD is overpriced.

can't wait to get a steam deck and get rid of my Switch2. in the meantime my backlog gets some love. what about y'all?
