most important geopolitical facts i know of, ranked:

  1. United Arab Emirates (UAE) completed a deep-water seaport there.
  2. It borders Djibouti, which houses a Chinese military base.
  3. Ethopia hopes to gain cheaper access to the ocean through that port.

Somaliland is across the gulf from Yemen and could be used as a staging ground for fuckery there, and israel and the us have talked about possible plans to deport palestinians to Somalia/Somaliland
