I watched Trumbo (2015) yesterday. Dramatised biography of Dalton Trumbo. Had no idea the guy who wrote Spartacus (1960) was a comrade but that makes a lot of sense.
Anyone got more info on Trumbo from a communist perspective? That his other big movie in 1960 was Exodus leaves me wondering if there were other less savoury influences to him coming off the writers blacklist than were shown in this film. But then I've not seen Exodus... it sounds like obvious Israeli propaganda but I have no idea.

The running man is a weird movie huh, it's your average western action flick with your typical free thinking badassβ’ protagonist but it is annoyingly political, which is why i think it flopped commercially lol, covers themes like media manipulation, police worship, opulence and ultimately sends a eat the rich message, unfortunately it's cringy because it's anarchist.
saw that movie. dialogue is cringe for sure. the movie writer is politically anarchist. other than that it's just ok.
I tried to watch the remake but it was just really cringe dialogue and acting. and using a baby as a emotional hook just puts me off.

Feel like every american movie ive saw recently is just trying to criticize the way the US is moving forward but without any real substance. The leo dicaprio movie weirds me out because it obviously depicts the military and oligarchs (the club guys) as fascists but it can't help itself and depict the rebel group as just a bunch of cringe hippies.
