I don't even know what a tankie is. However I will say that we didn't have a good candidate in 2025. I'm 42 and the last person who was running for president that I thought would have been a good president was Al Gore. I was too young to vote.
No one is saying that Harris (or Biden) was as bad as trump. But it's like being given the option of a barf flavored jelly bean, and an actual literal pile of dog shit. Sure, picking the jelly bean is the clear better option, but it's not "good".
Basically, I don't see either party as having the public's best heart in mind. The democrats are working for the democrats. The republicans are working for the corporations. But nobody is working for the actual American public.
Would Harris's presidency be going better for us than trumps? Absolutely. Was she the one who should have won? Yes.
But I still feel her agenda would be mostly centered on how she'll play her moves to win in 2028. Rather than what the American public wants. I will say though, that I don't see her fucking with medicaid or snap. I mean, we'll never officially know....but I can't see that being her agenda.
Basically trumps plan is to fuck everybody over.
Harris's plan probably would have been to make moves to benefit Harris. And if that means doing something for the American public to show them why they voted for you, it would be less about the action, and more about the good PR they can use in 2028.
So yeah. Both are bad, but I'd only call one of them a pedophilic fascist.
Firstly, a Tankie is a pejorative label generally applied to authoritarian communists, used to describe a person who sides with the Tanks in events such as the USSR's use of force against the Hungarians in 1956 and the CCP's against tiananmen square and other protests across China in 1989. They support Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the Chinese occupation of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, etc. They oppose NATO, and will use any excuse to shame or drag through the mud western europe and north america, they will even use Israel's genocide as an example while doing everything in their power to keep the war going. Secondly, I personally think Harris' plan to tax unrealized gains over $1M would have been an amazing step forward for this country, and that she would have continued Biden's legacy of expanding medical care, expanding protections for gay marriage and LGBT+, pursing green energy solutions, and protection public lands.
I personally think the DNC's platform of reversing Citizens United is absolutely necessary to save this nation, and I think we would see the most progressive congress in this nation's history if we could get at least 60 DNC senators rather than the 48 or less we've had for over a decade.
