Why do headlines have to be so stupidly specific about a meaningless part of the situation. He also (probably) shot her 'after' they had breakfast, took out the garbage, watched some reality tv show....

He shot her while she was trying to stop him from leaving with their kid and arguing about drinking.... The headline makes it sound like he caught her stealing his coins and pulled out a gun and shot her for it. This situation is obviously f'd up, but it's literally just a domestic dispute that they tried click baiting.
