I think one of the Kennedys said that the name of the Kennedy Center was specified by federal law, and it cannot be changed by a vote of the board of the Kennedy Center.

I hope that's true, because I have this very reasonable desire that every building that ever had Trump's name be demolished, to be replaced with affordable housing, and every organization bearing his name be disbanded.

If the Kennedy Center could not be renamed, then it's a reasonable thing to say that it never really had Trump's name.

I even think that once Trump dies, of natural causes, obviously, we should have a constitutional congress and have a nice reset, start counting from the first President or Prime Minister or whatever, just so that children don't need to learn Trump's name in school.

Trump wants his name to be remembered, so I want a future where we fix the problems that he exposed in our system, and then we do our best to completely forget him.

I think it will be remembered, like Benedict Arnold is remembered.

A miniscule, radically optimistic part of me wants to believe that he's viscerally aware of his own miserable fate and is intentionally acting as a villain to ultimately unify the country. I'm not holding my breath, but it's a small source of hope.

His name is literally on the building now. It doesn't matter what the law says anymore

I can convince myself that he's simply illegally defaced the building. Just some expensive graffiti.

If he had used the traditional graffiti of spray paint to add his name to the building, then his name would also have literally been on the building, too, but I think it would be difficult to argue that such a thing should condemn the entire building.

This is my spin that could save the building.

Natural causes such as an acute lead intoxication?

Actually, scratch that, I'm hoping for him and his friends to die of an insufferably long and painful degenerative illness. Or cancer, cancer is fine too.
