This made perfect sense when I was stoned, but now that I'm a bit more sober I realized that normal-sized umbrellas exist, are more commonly found than these, are actually waterproof, do not require stabbing the joint and will fit the entire smoker (and his joint!) under it.
Truly a stoner solution, I rate it [10]/10
