In short:

NSW Police Deputy Commissioner David Hudson has told the ABC seven men arrested in Liverpool yesterday have "extremist Islamic ideology".

The men travelled to Sydney from Victoria, with police swarming on them over fears "a violent act was possibly being planned".

What's next?

Police have detained the men under national security legislation and they will likely face charges.

Zero evidence provided. Arrested them as a "precaution". Creepy slippery slope rhetoric. You are witnessing the rise of xenophobia/fascism becoming more popular and appealing to more people in Australia. Mark my words.

Intelligence sources have confirmed one of the men arrested in a dramatic vehicle interception in Sydney's south-west was under investigation by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO).

NSW Police Deputy Commissioner David Hudson said the only weapon found was a knife.

Speaking to 702 ABC Radio Sydney on Friday morning, Deputy Commissioner Hudson said the men were known to police.

This is as long as the article needed to be, but they fucking repeated everything twice. Thanks for the synopsis.
