Makes sense - probably will perform better and they don't have to pay for a license.

I wouldn't even blame Lenovo for not passing over the savings of Linux. Because that means, they have a huge reason to sell Linux based systems, as they make more money from each unit this way.

I actually thought Microsoft excuses handhelds from Windows licensing fees? Or discounts them?

No idea, it's just regular Windows 11 underneath so I don't believe it's exempt from licensing.
