So, I don't know if this is the place for this, but I have a Retroid Flip 2.

Love it.

Here's my issue. I downloaded the windows version of Stardew Valley, and want to run it on Winlator. It takes a bit of a long time to boot up....but it does boot. However, it does NOT seem to recognize my controller thats built into the system.

Mouse seems to work just fine. I assume keyboard does as well. But that doesn't help me. I need the controller to work.

Any advice?

I have just ordered a pocket flip 2 so have been researching different possibilities with the device etc and as such I have no first hand experience yet.

Have you tried portmaster? As I seen stardew valley is one of the "releases" for that and I keep hearing good things so maybe worth a try instead to get it up and running?

I have not. I never even heard of this!

Little piece of advice, that I'm sure you already know, but I'll share just in case you don't.

The flip 2, is literally the exact same hardware as the Retroid Pocket 5 (assuming you got the flip 2 varient with the snapdragon 865 processor)

Literal exact same board, buttons, screen, everything. The only difference is the form factor.

So if you see a video about the retroid pocket 5, it also applies to our flip 2. Again, there are 2 varients of the flip 2. The snapdragon 865, and something else that ends in 1100. But that one is not as good.

I was thinking of making a Lemmy community called "Retro Handhelds". A place where people could discuss all the retroids, and ambernics, and miyoos of the gaming landscape. Just a place for us all to connect and discuss our little gadgets.

Would you be interested in that?

Hey, thanks for the heads up but I am aware of that and made sure I ordered a snapdragon version rather than the inferior mediatek D1100 you mentioned :)

I would definitely subscribe to such a community, I haven't actually looked to see if something already existed along these lines but presume you already have, and would contribute where I could!

I'd be interested to hear how portmaster works out for you if you do give it a go! I am replacing a steam deck with this handheld as the steam deck has always been extremely uncomfortable for me to use and as such I never used it much so am interested to see what gaps this could also fill in terms of PC games :)
