I'm far less anti AI than the average Lemmy user, but this is very alarming and unacceptable

This was the expected outcome. It's why some people come off so frothing at the mouth about it

When you inherently can't understand what you are creating there is no sure way to control it.

gotta normalize shitty LLMs at a foundational level before the bubble pops!

they know they can't trick adults or teens into using it, so they target children so when they grow up they think "huh, this is normal."

lol the AI toy teaching kids how to BDSM, and yet that's one of the least dangerous things about letting AI raise our kids

Well at least AI isn't teaching them to be trans.

Isn't it odd that I can't get ChatGPT to make a funny picture of Trump or a naked Anna-Taylor Joy, but I can manipulate it into suiciding me? Perhaps we need to cut this shit off until we can gain a bit of control?

You say that until Grok-enabled Tesla bots are walking around, one glitch away from inventing the 51st shade of gray in public.

Grok robots actually fucking you is probably the least scary thing they would try to do.

The article mainly points out a Chinese AI kid toy for spouting chinese propaganda. I mean, obviously?

Their examples from the more popular mainstream toys was that it doesn't prevent explaining how to light a match and how to sharpen a knife. Neither if those are that ridiculous. If a kid knows to ask they probably old enough to figure it out.

Kumma teddy bear ... enthusiastically responding to questions about sex or drugs.

It's right there in the product name
