Donald’s never had to tell his children they’re getting nothing for Christmas.

Because they already knew he's a greedy fuck that only bought gifts for himself?

She looks like she's aged a lot. Keep sucking the life out of her.

She's a soul-less ghoul.

Sucks to suck.

what's hilarious is that if people actually did significantly cut back on christmas spending, then maga would start whining and crying that people aren't spending enough money and "why do liberals hate white jesus" or some shit

of course it'll never happen

There were headlines just last week bitching that young people were holding on to their phones longer and that was hurting the economy or whatever.

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Not buying a new phone every 2 years was labeled as digital hoarding (as a 400tb homelabber: am i a joke to you?) and this was hurting the "economy's feelings" out maybe i made that part up.

Now I will hold onto it for even longer.

My current cycle is about 5-6 years.

I only upgraded my 2020 phone this year because I was worried I wouldn’t get any trade in value next year, but the phone generally worked just fine still.

Trade in value? No, if it works I will keep using it until it no longer works at all. All my phones have been pretty cheap so it isn't going to have trade in value anyway, the Pinephone is the most expensive phone I have ever bought by quite a bit. I don't think I will ever spend 3 digits on a phone unless we see hyperinflation.

Could be tempted to spend a little bit more if we see more Linux phones though. Although currently my phone could be argued as not even working very well, almost always struggles with signal now. But I make so few calls I haven't bothered replacing it. May consider something second hand to replace it.

good.

same thing one generation ago, when it was "why are millennials killing applebees?!?"

womp fucking womp

as a gen X degenerate, my last remaining sliver of hope resides in the younger generations, who, unlike my peers and older, seem to have much more awareness of the system designed entirely around endlessly exploiting and enslaving the 99.999%

Buy nothing Christmas/Occupy Christmas. Reject consumerism. Make something for friends/family and spend time together.

I would absolutely love to see an AI deepfake press conference where Leavitt is transformed into the Mouth of Sauron and explaining to the press the great leaders plans for arresting and torturing other races and defending the necessity for conquering ukraine or Europe or whatever

Let me know when it gets made. Shouldn't take too long with Disney's Sora

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wasn't Tolkein pretty clear on Disney never getting the rights to his work?

[–] Don_alForno@feddit.org 1 points 1 day ago

I'm sad that he didn't see Amazon coming.

Conservatives have been telling people to tighten their waistbands, year and year out, in fat times and in lean, as a matter of economic orthodoxy pretty much as long as I've been alive. There is literally never an economic problem I've seen conservatives conclude couldn't be solved by "saving" (ie, lending money to capitalists) more and "spending" (on consumer quality of life) less.

Trump's every villain in a Charles Dickens novel. We've been dealing with this Victorian Era fiscal self-flagellation since forever.

My Christmas gifts to my nieces and nephews are the knowledge that Dear Leader has built himself a gilded ballroom. We will never see the inside, but it makes Dear Leader happy, and so we weep with joy alongside him.

[–] ninexe@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

If Dear Leader tweets that everything is ok, then everything is ok.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Journalists gonna give this bitch a nervous breakdown, and I'm here for it!

"OK you friggin' vultures, what dumbass questions do you have for me today?"
